Career

Ololade Stories found her early. Raised in Lagos State, Ololade’s journey into filmmaking began with a love for performance and storytelling. She studied Theatre and Performing Arts at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where she developed a strong foundation in character, narrative, and dramatic expression. But it was during a practical field workshop at the National Film Institute in Jos that something shifted. Behind the lens, she discovered a new language — one written in light, shadow, and movement. Cinematography became more than a skill; it became her voice. Determined to refine her craft, Ololade went on to study Cinematography at the New York Film Academy. Since launching her filmmaking career in 2005, she has steadily built a body of work grounded in emotion, cultural authenticity, and visual depth. Her breakthrough came with The Diary of Bolanle, an award-winning short film that earned Best Student Film at the Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Nollywood in California. Today, Ololade continues to tell stories that are intimate yet expansive — stories that explore identity, humanity, and the quiet power of everyday moments. Through her lens, she invites audiences not just to watch, but to feel.
